Shique Beauty Comp Beauty Tips

Below are some beauty tips and tricks to use when preparing your Comp Day.

MAKEUP:

Comp day makeup is an important part of your overall appearance for stage. We carefully match your colour to your dark tan to ensure your features are highlighted for stage under the harsh lights ensuring you shine.

Pre makeup – Please ensure you arrive with a clean face (NO MAKEUP), and moisturizer on your skin (NO SPF).

We will prime your skin before makeup application however please ensure you use a moisturizer as you will already be dehydrated from the comp prep and makeup sometimes doesn’t go on or hold to the skin as evenly as when you are hydrated.

HAIR:

Please ensure your hair is dry, fairly clean and brushed.

We suggest washing your hair the morning of getting your base coat tan.

We charge an extra $10 for clip in extension application and we suggest you drop them off before the day to save time on styling and we can have them ready to clip straight in.

TANNING:

Week leading up to comp

Exfoliate your body using a product that will regulate the PH in your skin or even use a soft exfoliation scrub like a coffee scrub, and using an exfoliation mit scrub your body to be careful not to scratch your skin as this will show up on your tan.

If waxing we suggest this a few days out from comp.

8-12 Hours Prior to your Spray Tan:

Shower but no more exfoliating. Do NOT apply body oils & ONLY apply moisturizer if you have very dry skin)

Shave to remove unwanted body hair.

Tan time:

Wear clothing to and from your spray tanning appointment that are dark in color, preferably black and loose fitting (cotton clothing) to avoid excess contact or staining to your clothing after your spray tan. We have brown bare suits for $10.

Also if your driving remember to pack a towel for your seat.

On arrival we will apply moisturizer to dry areas & a shower cap so your hair does not get colour on it.

Now to marinate in your base coat tan:

NOW YOU HAVE HAD YOUR BASE COAT TAN LEAVE TO SOAK INTO YOUR SKIN FOR AT LEAST 6-8HRS FOR COMP OR EVEN SLEEP IN IT IF YOU WISH TO BE DARKER.

TO WASH OFF DO NOT USE SOAP ONLY WARM WATER (IF YOU FIND YOUR HANDS HAVE GOT COLOUR ON THEM USE A WASHER TO WIPE OFF THE PALM OF YOUR HANDS AND BOTTOMS OF FEET

1-5 Hours After: Avoid any activity that would cause sweating, like exercise, cleaning, or showering, as your spray tan is developing during these hours. Contact with water or sweat could result in lines or uneven tanning.

ALWAYS CHECK WITH TAN TECHNICIAN IF ALLOWED TO SHOWER BASE COAT TAN OFF!

If allowed a shower -

6-8 Hours after: Shower normally. Do not wash with soap  JUST USE THE WARM WATER NOT HOT and a gentle face washer for your hands if you feel they are too dark. For the first shower, you will see some color wash away from your skin. The color guard is used to give immediate tan results, but also so that the technician may see where they are applying solution. Do not be concerned by this, as your developed tan is still there. While you are drying, remember to pat with a towel, not rub your skin.

Some people bring a spare sheet to sleep in at the hotel if they are travelling to competition however Brown Bare suits will also help with this.

NOW FOR YOUR NEXT COAT OF COMPETITION TAN  REMEMBERING WE WILL APPLY THE MOISTURISER.

POST-TAN CARE

After Your Spray Tan:

Make sure to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize because the DHA in the tanning solution may dry your skin just a little. Remember moisturize twice a day. Also helps tan fade away evenly.

Your tan should last 7-10 days.

To get your tan off use exfoliant and mit, coffee scrub or even swim in a chlorinated pool or also the sauna can help to remove any left over.

We look forward to being apart of your comp day and wish you all the best with your prep.

Love the Shique Beauty team xx
